ITINERARY BY DAY

Day 1: Hanoi – Hang Kia – trekking

After breakfast we depart Hanoi for Hoa Binh province and the town of Mai Chau. We ride for four hours passing the fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. After lunch in a traditional stilt house of the Thai people, we ride following Highway 6, near Moc Chau plateau, turning left and going over ten kilometers of steep pass, winding roads around the clouds, you reach the land of Hang Kia. The valley of the H’mong people in these days are beautiful and fascinating. Here there are four seasonal flowers bloom, the temperate climate that many travelers do not want to leave. You will feel the handicraft work inherited from many generations of Mong people here. H’Mong ethnic women learn to weave linen, draw beeswax, embroideries from a young age, 4-5 year old girls knows embroidery, 6-7 year-old girls know to connect flax, weave linen, draw beeswax. Being immersed in the life of ethnic Mong people and trying to weave linen, draw beeswax, embroideries is an interesting experience.

In the evening,  we stay overnight as the guests of an H’mong family in a traditional long house, situated in a picturesque valley of peach orchards.

Hang Kia Mai Chau trekking

Day 2: Hang Kia trekking – drive to Mai Chau

After breakfast home hosted by the H’mong family, we’ll begin an exciting trekking day. We will start with 01- hour jungle trail which could be a bit wet due to the dense trees that keep sunlight away. Then, we descend the hill passing farm and terraces. The scenery is stunning with mountains, terraces and expansive valley. We will have some breaks for snack, cold water brought by our porters and photographing on the trekking time. This afternoon, walking to the main road for drive to Mai Chau with relaxing at a resort or villa for your leisure after the hard trekking days. Enjoy swimming or massage at the villa and nice diner.

Day 3: Mai Chau cycling – drive back Hanoi

Breakfast at hotel and then cycle to explore Mai Chau beautiful ethnic villages. Be welcomed by the friendly local people, talk with them and discover their traditional culture. Total cycling time is around 2 – 3 hours on flat village paths. After lunch, drive back to Hanoi.
