In this four-day trekking tour the H’mong guide will bring you from Sapa to the villages of Sa Seng, Giang Ta Chai, Ban Ho and Nam Toong. You will have opportunities to stay, chat and get nice shots of Black H’mong, Tay and Red Dzao people as well as experience their local life. Before we arrive there we will cross mountains, forests, villages and valleys with stunning rice fields.

ITINERARY BY DAY
Day 1: Hanoi – night train to Lao Cai
In the evening, take night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train with sharing sleeping cabin (Private is subject to available on your request)
Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa – Sa Seng – Giang Ta Chai (Black H’mong)
Being pick up at Lao Cai train station and drive to Sapa. Have breakfast at a local restaurant and meeting our tour guide to start this three-day trekking tour in Sapa. When we leave town, we will be walking uphill for the first part. We walk through forest while we can see Sapa beneath us if we look behind. When we get higher up in the mountains the road will be more flat. We’ll walk through grasslands with horses. After a few hours walking we arrive in Sa Seng. A small village high up in the mountains, mostly inhabited by the Black Hmong ethnic minority. Here we will have a lunch with a local family.
After lunch we slowly descend to the village of Hang Da. From here we will have stunning views on the Muong Hoa Valley with it’s beautiful rice fields. You can see villages like Ta Van and Lao Chai, where I was born. From Hang Da we walk to Giang Ta Chai where we will spend the night. Before dinner you will have time to explore the village or watch the family prepare a meal.
Day 3: Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Ban Ho (Tay people)
After a breakfast in the homestay we continue the tour. In Giang Ta Chai you have the opportunity to visit a waterfall before we continue the walk to the next village. We will be walking uphill until we reach the village of Su Pan. From here you’ll have beautiful views on the rice fields below and the mountains above us.
In Su Pan we will have a lunch. After lunch, we walk to the village of Ban Ho where we will spend the night in the homestay of a local Tay minority family. Ban Ho is a beautiful village with stilt houses and a small waterfall where you can swim. The night you will spend in one of the traditional stilt houses, where we will enjoy dinner as well.
Day 4: Ban Ho – Nam Toong – Sapa (Red Dzao people) – night train back to Hanoi
The next morning we will continue the trek from Ban Ho. We walk to a village called Nam Toong (about 3km from Ban Ho). Here you can watch the Red Dzao minority and learn about their culture. The Red Dzao are famous for the Red Scarfs they wear on their head.
After visiting Nam Toong we walk back to Ban Ho, where we will have lunch. After lunch transportation will be waiting for you to bring you back to Sapa for relaxing, massage,…before transferring to Lao Cai for night train to back to Hanoi.
